Glad to share Haji Gul from my lab, working under my and Dr. Ghani’s supervision, has been selected as a DAAD AINeT Fellow for the Postdoc-NeT-AI 05/2025 Networking Week on Natural Language Processing (NLP).
🎓 Fellowship & Visit
As part of this prestigious fellowship, Haji Gul is currently on his visit to Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany from September 15–20, 2025. The Networking Week offers a platform to engage with leading researchers in Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Graphs, and NLP, and to expand professional research networks.
🔬 Collaboration & Research
During his stay, Haji Gul is collaborating with Prof. Dr. Ricardo Usbeck and the Information Systems Institute team, focusing on knowledge graphs and automated reasoning. This collaboration has already initiated a joint project with Debayan Banerjee on Knowledge Graph Question–Answer Generation, exploring methods to translate natural language into structured queries and make knowledge graphs more accessible and useful.
🌟 Significance & Impact
- Selection as a DAAD AINeT Fellow highlights the strong research emerging from the School of Digital Science.
- The visit strengthens academic ties between UBD and international research groups in AI, knowledge graphs, and NLP.
- The joint project aims to develop tools that bridge natural language and structured knowledge, with potential applications in education, digital services, and industry.
We are proud to see Haji Gul representing UBD on the international stage and look forward to the research contributions that will result from this fellowship and collaboration.
